Who We Are

Mustard Seed is a group of volunteers who work to meet the needs of citizens in the community.

Organizing in 1994, we met in homes and church basements and finally in our own facility at 5420 302nd St., in the Point Place area of Toledo, Ohio, all the time seeking to better the community by helping it's residents who have experienced times of trouble.

We do this by operating a Feed Your Neighbor food pantry where clients can obtain groceries once a month.

We also help with needs such as personal products, assistance with utility bills, prescriptions and referrals to other programs and agencies in the city.

What We Do

Besides our Feed Your Neighbor food pantry, Mustard Seed provides school supplies to the local elementary schools to give to children who's families can't afford them.

For Thanksgiving, Mustard Seed partners with RiverPoint UMC to provide a holiday dinner for about 40 families.

The Christmas season is filled with gathering toys and gifts from area churches, organizations and individuals and providing 50-75 families with gifts and food for the holiday.

Again, for Easter, Mustard Seed collects candy, baskets and grass, then allow our clients to choose and make Easter baskets for their children.

We now operate a full service clothing closet in our facility, where families can select clothing items they need at no cost. It includes coats, hat and gloves among many other items.

Thank You

Mustard Seed Outreach Ministry could not accomplish all these things without the generous donations of money and food and other items from citizens in the area, and the volunteers who give their time and talent to help us help the community.

If you would like to get involved with this hands on ministry, contact us by telephone or email, or just stop in to visit and get an idea of what we do.
